Laura founded The AI Social with a vision to make AI feel more welcoming, relevant and accessible to women of all ages and backgrounds. After returning to university in her 40s to study artificial intelligence, she started noticing how differently the women around her felt about AI. While some were already embracing it, others were curious but uncertain about where they fitted into the conversation. This inspired Laura to create a more relaxed and enjoyable way for women to discover AI, combining useful learning with genuine connection so women can meet new people, hear different perspectives and build their confidence together.

With more than 15 years of experience in the technology sector, Laura enjoys connecting people, developing ideas and creating engaging experiences. She holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Liverpool Management School and several professional AI qualifications from the University of Oxford. She is also an advocate for responsible AI and a member of the Global Council for Responsible AI. Through The AI Social, Laura is building a growing network of local communities where women can explore AI through social meetups, guest speakers and workshops, online and in person.
